This La Paz amaryllis is a stunner. ¡Muy caliente!
Charo-does-the-Dance-of-the-Seven-Veils amaryllis.
Saucy, exotic and alluring.
Floral fireworks.
Amaryllis La Paz |
Yesterday was our first measurable--and shovelable--snow. So much different than last year. But despite the mild winter we've had thus far, it's nice to have this reminder of spring that's still a few months away.
And how incredible that two stalks decided to put on their show at the same time!
I'm completely head over heels for this beauty and I'll be buying several of them next year.
The perfect flower for the first anniversary fiesta of Small but Charming's
Flowers in the House party. Stop in and say hi.
Have a great week!
Amazing! Here it feels like spring is just around the corner. I'm fine with that.
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! What a gorgeous flower!
ReplyDeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteYou even have ME wanting to get one.

What a beauty....and ya know what?
ReplyDeletethink she knows it!
Oh what a treat, and it bloomed just in time for Jane's party! I have never seen this variety before, it is stunning. Have a great day, love Linda x

ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous...I haven;t seen that one before.
ReplyDeleteSuch elegant the amaryllis La Paz displays. I will be on the lookout for this and I love how you have surrounded the pot with moss. Beautiful

Chica-boom!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is very pretty. Every time I am tempted to buy a new plant my husband asks, "Why would you do that to a poor unsuspecting plant?" or just tells me that I don't need another plant to kill. I am envious of those who have gorgeous plants in their homes.
ReplyDeleteQue linda, senor.
ReplyDeleteGray skies here so lovely to see your chile pepper blooming.
xo jane
That is a fabulous Amaryllis! I didn't grow any this year due to time so it's fun seeing yours.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day Steve!

Well you've got me there! I've never seen that one before.
ReplyDeleteI love how slightly odd, in an exotic way, it is. Makes me think of old school showgirls and 50's Latin nightclubs. The Boston blue bloods will be running her out of town.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love having flowers in my home. I try to have orchid's. They last at least 2 to 3 months for me. I do not have a green thumb!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen this one before either. VERY sexy. I don't know if I've ever said that about a flower before!
ReplyDeleteThat is one stunning flower.

I have never seen this blossom, how exotic it looks! All my amaryllis are sulking.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I was going to say -- a firework of a flower. I haven't thought about Charo in years...
ReplyDeleteIsn't it the best thing to grow your own flowers? Especially indoors?
Camille

ReplyDelete"Floral fireworks" indeed. That's the perfect description. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flower--could be called Bird of Paradise Amaryllis!
ReplyDeletepretty
ReplyDeletebut a bit scarey too!
Thanks for the visit. I think Spring may be a little while off though. Still, we can dream! Love Linda x

ReplyDeleteSteve are you sharing your source for that gorgeous Amaryllis? Otherwise, I think I am going to die of envy!
ReplyDeleteHeather,
ReplyDeleteThe La Paz amaryllis came from my local garden center but I first saw them at Terrain (shopterrain.com) which is Anthropologie's home and garden store. I just googled it and see it's presently 50% off at whiteflowerfarm.
Once again I've learned something new on your blog. I don't think I've seen that a amaryllis flower before, so liner, so different than the common. Love it. Kev
ReplyDeletebeautiful flower! is it possible to save the bulb and regrow it next year? That's what I'm hoping to do with my own amaryllis that is now dying a slow death after a beautiful bloom.
