It's been really dark here the past two days but one of my amaryllis bulbs is busting a move so I did the best I could with some photos this morning.
Amaryllis Sweet Lilian |
Meet Sweet Lilian.
It looks like there's two more flowers on this stalk left to open and there's another stem in the works.
In the background is Amaryllis La Paz which should open this weekend so I'll try to take better photos of both of them this weekend.
Does everyone have a long weekend?
I had a red one that never came up! Lillian is a pretty girl. No, no long weekend for me :( Hope you have a good one!
ReplyDeleteSteve, you must work for the government, right? I don't know of anyone else has MLK day off :) I wish I did though. Anyway, Miss Lilian's got some kinda sassy style. And I'm thinking she knows it!
ReplyDeleteAww, love your Amaryllis, I'm patiently waiting for mine to do something! Love the name too, I had an Aunt Lillian who lived in Melrose, and when I was a young girl I used to call her "Aunt Melrose" LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so looking forward to the long weekend and a trip to Maine!
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Mary
Long weekend? Nope, not here.
ReplyDeleteOne of my nieces is named Lillian so I love that name.
Lovely flower.
I've never tried an Amaryllis.
I do have Mexican Heather and Geraniums sitting in my window that I brought in from outside last Fall and they seem to be doing well...but apparently they make cats vomit if they are eaten.
Enjoy your weekend while I am working.
:/ - Cindi
I've got a fake Sweet Lillian. Does that count?
ReplyDeleteBusting a move, LOL. Such talented flowers you have!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes! A long weekend, very exciting. I don't have many plans except to watch the Patriots on Saturday night and dinner with friends on Sunday.
I am drawn to variegated flowers, especially white with another color. Your Lillian is lovely.
ReplyDeletecongrats on the birth of your babies! I have a long weekend!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell...aren't you just Mr. Amaryliss!!
ReplyDeleteLillian is no shy beauty!
She is sweet..even on a dark day. And yes we do have a long weekend...and pretty happy about it.
ReplyDeleteLovely - I like the name and the delicate variegation also. This reminds me of the lilies I had that Biscuit ate. He had yellow powder all over his nose and then threw up in the house. Keep the cats away - I think these are poisonous also to kitties.
ReplyDeleteLong weekend - I wish. Enjoy - you deserve one considering you worked all over Christmas!

Ah, we get her sisters to design with, I never knew their name.
ReplyDeleteNo, regular weekend for me, Sunday and Monday. I would murder for Saturday.
Still desperately seeking sleep.
xo Jane
No long weekend for me til Presidents Day. Sigh. Your Sweet Lillian is sweet indeed. I've never seen that one before.
ReplyDeleteYour Ms. Lillian is beautiful and sounds like she’s getting a lot of stalks I love Amaryllis. Yep long weekend here starting today thankfully since it’s icing here, did you get snow yesterday too?
ReplyDeleteXX
Debra,
i love amaryllis... my grams always had them and we would watch in awe as they grew... i buy one every holiday and still do the same... this one is sooo pretty!
ReplyDeletewishing you a wonderful new year... xo
I was given an amaryllis (don't remember the name but it is solid red) at Christmas one year and it bloomed beautifully. I then planted it outside and it blooms about this time every year. I live in zone 8 (I think).
ReplyDeleteAnyway would love to have a long weekend but none for me - the holidays are over here until April!
Regards,
What beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteFor my own sanity, flowers in January are a must. The local supermarket had Hyacinths for 3.99 this week. Love their perfume...
ReplyDeleteYea for the long weekend!
Spinal Tap at the Tower Theatre Saturday, and snowboarding Sunday! Hubby's been gone all week at CISCO training, so it will be a fun weekend for sure ;)
very pretty. i do love amarylis.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i have a long weekend, glad you do too.
I was just beginning to wonder if my red amaryllis is all stalk and no action. I also have a long weekend and am simply delighted to no end.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeletethe great thing about having a job share is that every week is a long weekend for me, enjoy yours!. I am looking forward to progress reports on your makeovers.
ReplyDeleteI don't have much luck in the Amaryllis department, but yours looks beautiful. Long weekend for me WOO HOO! Settling in tonight to watch the Patriots. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteLove this post. It would be great to have you link this post to Seasonal Sundays.
