So I took your advice and took out almost everything you didn't like.

  1. I am just checking in and catching up with everyone, so I am a little behind. I am so glad to see the dresser remained. It was one of my favorite things in the room. Please allow the cats to remain....I am not allergic!

  4. Steve,
So, what's the plan? I'm guessing you didn't move everything out just so you can paint the windows. You seem to get good light in this room. Can't wait to see what you do with it. The floors are really nice too.

  5. OK, so now what's the plan? Are you thinking of a bed with a padded head-board, and no foot-board? It won't take up as much room and would look great! Waiting for the new reveal.

  6. You’ve probably heard this before but I have to tell you what a fan I am of your blog. I sign on almost everyday and hope that you have updated it. I am a little disappointed when it is the same blog but I know you have to work and have a life as well.
You mentioned that you are getting another bed. What if the bed had a shelf on the headboard that way you could place a welcoming bouquet, some books or anything else you might want to feature? I do love the Ethan Allen bed but as you said it does take up a lot of the room.

  7. Would you like me to send you my bed?

I'm a day or two behind and don't know the final decision.

    V. jealous of your floor, guess you dan't have a 70 lb. Lab scratching up every inch...

  12. How fun. Sometimes you have to just start it all again. Using the pieces in different ways may just be what you need OR....something new?

  14. That floor!! I'll take that part of the room. I'll send you my shipping address. I read all the comments and I agree with several that it is so fun when you've posted something new. Yours is an ever unfolding story. I want to see a picture of the room all that stuff is piled into! LOL :)

  16. See what a love of flowers can do? WAS going to suggest a few days ago that you just replace the bed, but I see you don't respond to your followers in small measure!

When you've got it all back together, come into the Shop and I'll present you with your first bouquet for the new "bedside" table!!!

  17. I'm really laughing out loud! Gardener's Cottage got it right!

But, I'm sure there's a Steve plan that hasn't been fully shared with us yet!

  20. A brass/iron bed? Since it is so open you can see through it and it makes a space appear larger. I LOVE your blog-fun reading-love see the changes-your humor is great-cannot wait to see the end results-but please do not paint over the wallpaper-it may look like you are trying to hide something or tacky looking. Have fun!

  21. I thought cliff-hangers were passé.

Update on the log cabin construction. The cement man didn't show up last week and this week his father died.

Question: if you hire people by the hour and not by the job do they show up any better?

  22. Oh my! Can't wait to see what's next!

(I have a similar space issue with our cottage guest room - am thinking of using plant stands on either side of the bed for side tables - only have 12" on each side to play with!)

  23. I'm glad you kept the dresser. It will give the cats a spot from which to supervise developments.

  24. Interesting...I'm glad you kept the wallpaper...I was kinda liking it...guess it's that 'down on the farm' quality it has...

PS...the new header is very snappy...nice job...I need to do something about mine!
