Bow Street Flowers



A little while back while reading comments on the Small but Charming blog, I found a florist whose blog photos really caught my attention.  Not only were their flower arrangements stunning, but they had rabbits running around their shop.  Turns out they're local!

I was off work today running errands and found myself driving by so I stopped in to introduce myself.  The lovely women of Bow Street Flowers, welcomed me with open arms and even offered me a seat to sit down and chat.  We had such a great time, I would bet I was there over an hour.  I even scored a big hug from Shelley and Gillian when I left!


I didn't have my camera with me so I hope they don't mind I've borrowed a few photos off their blog and website so you can see what they do.


For my local followers, I hope you'll stop by their store and see their lovely shop.  It's on Beacon Street between Inman and Porter Square, about half a block from Dali restaurant.  Tell them I sent you!

    Oh, they are so pretty. I find it difficult to arrange flowers, and really envy those who have the talent. I especially like the use of ferns in the first shot. Thanks for sharing.

    How sweet to have bunnies hopping around! The flowers a just beautiful!

    Pushy Sister #2's mom-in-law lives in Somerville, so I will let her know, although it may not sit well with Pushy Sister #4, she's a florist! LOL!!!

    I think it's great that you are featuring a local flower shop. In today's economy, this is such an important thing for small businesses. They do lovely work. So lush!

    Gorgeous arrangements, Steve. The florist/grower who did all of my arrangements for Lewiston Tour of Homes wrapped some of the vases with hosta leafs, but I think I'm going to send her this picture of it wrapped with a fern. It's STUNNING! I took pics of my pergola all dressed up this afternoon (with the 2 hour lull in the rain), and I hope you'll stop by and take a peak! :)

    Isn't it wonderful that there are still friendly traditional shop keepers in the world! And such beautiful arrangements. I wish I lived in the area - I would be right over there with cookies!     The floral arrangements are lovely. I like the use of the fern leaves wrapped around the inside of the vase in the first photo. The peach pie looked pretty good, too.

    Hey, guess what? Remember that gazzilion-year-old Architectural Digest with the article about Ansel Adams that I mentioned some time ago? I was digging around in a packing box and there it was - stuck between a book about Maxfield Parrish and one of Howard Pyle. Go figure...
