Carpe Diem II

Going here tomorrow.  There's LOTS of old houses...

...and I'll report back.

I hope you enjoy your day, too!

  1. Looks like you have another fabulous day planned! I'm jealous that there's so many beautiful and charming places that you can venture off to ~

I didn't get to comment on your iron post, so here's my 2 cents...or 5.

To me, the more symmetrical the better and I love that you are widening the steps. I think it will give it a much grander presence. I agree too that the handrails need to be centered on the columns, otherwise, it does resemble a herding corral or handicapped entrance.
I personally like the chunkier but less ornate handrails so they're noticeable but aren't the only things noticed. I have no doubt you will design the best looking handrails on this labour of love!

Have a great day tomorrow! I always enjoy seeing pictures of all the places you visit.

  2. MV? Looks wonderful wherever you're going! Ever consider a wood handrail and iron spindles? Something off the beaten path...

  3. Can't wait to see where you're heading this time!

  4. Have fun, enjoy and I would love to go looking at all those gorgeous old houses!
And love the rod iron for the handrails!!

  5. Your blog is soooooooooooo cool . I feel like I learn something every time I stop by...Thanks, kelly McGuill
